This is quiet courage — not loud wins, but grace that kept walking through grief. Your words remind us that…

Am I patriotic

Are you patriotic? What does being patriotic mean to you?

How I Express My Patriotism

Patriotism is often associated with grand gestures—waving flags, serving in the military, or making political statements. But for me, patriotism is a quiet, everyday commitment to the values and culture that make my home special. It’s about contributing to my community, honoring traditions, and carrying the spirit of my country wherever I go.

Embracing My Roots

Growing up, I learned that patriotism isn’t just about where you are but how you represent where you come from. I attended Adisadel College in Ghana, a school rich in tradition and excellence, which shaped my identity and sense of national pride. Later, my journey took me to Mercer Community College in the U.S., where I continued to uphold the values of hard work and resilience that Ghana instilled in me. No matter where I go, I carry my heritage proudly—through the way I speak, the stories I tell, and the values I uphold.

Keeping Culture Alive

One of the ways I stay connected to my roots is through food. Cooking fufu and soup is more than just a meal for me; it’s a way of honoring my heritage and keeping my culture alive. The act of preparing it reminds me of home, of family gatherings, and of the warmth that comes from sharing a dish that has been passed down for generations.

Supporting My Community

Patriotism, to me, is about making a positive impact. Whether it’s through writing—one of my passions—or simply being a good citizen, I believe in contributing to the well-being of those around me. Writing allows me to share ideas, preserve history, and inspire change, all of which are crucial in shaping the future of my community and my country.

Loyalty Beyond Borders

Even though I’ve lived in different places, my love for my country remains unwavering. Patriotism isn’t about disregarding other cultures; it’s about appreciating where you come from while respecting and learning from others. Whether I’m watching basketball, playing NBA 2K, or engaging in conversations, I bring my unique perspective, shaped by the experiences and values of my homeland.

A Quiet but Strong Patriotism

I don’t need to shout my love for my country from the rooftops. Instead, I show it through my actions—by being kind, by staying connected to my roots, by sharing my culture, and by striving to be the best version of myself. To me, patriotism is a lifelong commitment, not just to a place, but to the principles and people that define it.

How do you express your patriotism? Let’s celebrate our roots and make a positive impact wherever we are.

Until next time…
