Budgeting can feel like a chore, but I see it as a way to create financial stability while allowing myself the freedom to enjoy life. My approach is built on three key principles: simplicity, discipline, and balance.

Simplicity: Keeping It Clear and Manageable

I don’t like complicated spreadsheets or overwhelming financial apps. My budgeting system is straightforwardtrack my income, categorize my expenses, and ensure I’m not spending more than I earn. I break my budget into three main categories:

1. Essentials: Rent, food, transportation, and utilities. These are the non-negotiables.


2. Savings & Investments: Money set aside for future goals personal investments.


3. Lifestyle & Enjoyment: This includes entertainment, hobbies, and treats like my favorite French fries or a new NBA 2K game. Life isn’t just about bills—it’s about enjoyment too.



Discipline: Sticking to the Plan

Having a budget means nothing if I don’t stick to it. I set limits on spending and hold myself accountable. If I overspend in one category, I adjust in another. For example, if I buy a new video game, I might cut back on eating out that month.
