What are your morning rituals? What does the first hour of your day look like?
My Morning Rituals: A Smoke, A Pen, and A Flow of Thoughts

Mornings have a way of setting the tone for the rest of the day, and I’ve found a ritual that works for me—one that blends reflection, creativity, and a deep sense of ease. It all begins with a smoke session, a quiet moment of solitude that allows me to center myself before diving into my first love: writing.
The Smoke Session: A Gateway to Presence
The first thing I do when I wake up is take a moment to prepare for my smoke session. It’s not just about the act itself; it’s about easing into the day, letting my thoughts settle, and allowing myself to just be. The world is still quiet, the air is fresh, and in this stillness, I find a space to connect with my own mind. With each exhale, I let go of any lingering stiffness from the night before, creating a clean slate for the day ahead.
This ritual isn’t about escaping reality—it’s about stepping into it with a sense of calm. It slows down time just enough for me to become aware of my thoughts without feeling rushed. In that state, I can transition seamlessly into what comes next: writing.
Writing: The Purest Form of Expression
Once I feel settled, I move to my writing space. There’s something about the way words flow when my mind is open and uninhibited. The blank page is never intimidating; instead, it feels like an invitation to explore, to reflect, and to create. Some mornings, I pour out my thoughts freely, journaling about whatever comes to mind. Other times, I work on something more structured—perhaps a short story, a piece of poetry, or a reflection on the things that shape my world.
Writing in the morning allows me to capture ideas that are still fresh, untainted by the distractions of the day. It’s a sacred time, a space where creativity meets clarity. I don’t always know where the words will take me, but that’s part of the magic. Some days, I have writen pages upon pages; other days, a few lines are enough. The key is consistency—the act of showing up and allowing my thoughts to materialize on the page.
The Flow into the Rest of the Day
By the time I’m done writing, I feel lighter, more in tune with myself. The combination of smoking and writing creates a rhythm that carries me through the rest of my day with ease. It’s a ritual of balance—one that grounds me and fuels my passion.
We all have our own ways of finding peace in the morning. For me, it’s the blend of stillness, creativity, and the slow unraveling of thoughts that sets the foundation for everything that follows. This ritual isn’t just about habit—it’s about intention, about making space for the things that truly matter.
And so, each morning, I light up, I write, and I let the day unfold in its own way.
Until next time..
