How do you use social media?
How I Work on Social Media Today Through Writing, Connecting, and Research

Social media is a wild world. It moves fast, changes overnight, and can feel like both a playground and a pressure cooker. But for me, working on social media today starts with one key thing: writing. Writing is my anchor, my compass, and my connection point to the people on the other side of the screen.
Before I post anything, I write. I take time to put my thoughts down—sometimes it’s a caption, sometimes a short story, sometimes just a few honest lines about what I’m going through or what’s on my mind. I don’t chase trends. I chase truth. If it doesn’t feel real or meaningful, I don’t post it.
Connecting online has changed too. It’s less about the likes and more about the conversations. I check who’s responding, not just with emojis, but with comments, messages, or shared stories. I try to respond in kind. Real connection, even in a virtual world, still matters. I want to make people feel seen, just like I want to be seen.
And then there’s the research part—maybe the most underrated. I read. I watch. I observe. I see what people are talking about, what moves them, what’s trending, but also what’s timeless. I don’t want to echo the noise—I want to rise above it with something worth pausing for. Research helps me stay sharp, stay current, but also stay intentional.
Social media doesn’t run me—I work with it. And that means showing up with words that matter, building connections that last, and staying curious through it all.
Until next time…
