What gives you direction in life?
“How I Get Direction in Life Through Two Words: ‘My Fault‘”

Lately, I’ve been leaning heavy on two little words: my fault. Strange, right? But hear me out—those words have become a compass for me. Not in the way most people would use them to dodge shame or pile on guilt, but as a way to reclaim power and clarity in my life.
There was a time when I used to point fingers—at people, at the past, at bad luck, timing, even the weather. Life felt random and full of obstacles that I didn’t place, so why should I have to remove them? But nothing changed. I just stood there in the same spot, waiting for someone to come help me move forward.
Then somewhere along the line—maybe during one of those silent moments where your brain just downloads a truth—you realize: the only way out is through. And the only way through is to own your steps. Even the missteps. Especially the missteps.
So I started saying it. Not to beat myself up, but to check myself in.
“My fault I didn’t follow up.”
“My fault I didn’t listen better.”
“My fault I let that opportunity pass.”
Each time I say it, I get a clearer view of the road ahead. It’s like wiping fog off a mirror. I see where I went wrong, but more importantly, I see how I can do it better next time. It’s not just accountability—it’s direction. Those two words pull the map out of my pocket and lay it flat on the table
