This is quiet courage — not loud wins, but grace that kept walking through grief. Your words remind us that…

What’s the oldest thing you own that you still use daily?

The Oldest Thing I Own: My Trusty Gerber Stainless Steel Tool

If you asked me what’s the oldest thing I still own and use, I had  to think for a minute— it was  my one Gerber stainless steel multi-tool. It’s not flashy, it’s not new, but it’s earned its place in my life in a way few other things ever could.

I can’t even remember exactly when I got it — only that once I did, it quietly slipped into my daily life, becoming a sort of silent partner in every little mess, fix, or unexpected problem. Over  time, I’ve upgraded phones, and replaced countless other gadgets. But this tool has stayed.

It’s more than just pliers and blades folded neatly in a steel handle. To me, it’s an all-in-one solution, a pocket-sized problem solver. Loose screws? Done. Something needs prying open? Easy. Small fix on the go? Handled before I even think twice.

What I love most is how it has proven itself over and over, in situations big and small. There’s something comforting about holding it — feeling its weight, its cold reliability. It reminds me that, no matter how complicated life gets, sometimes the simplest tools can handle the job better than anything else.

Along the way, this Gerber tool has become a bit of a symbol for how I approach life. Fix what I can, adapt when I need to, stay ready for whatever comes next. I guess in its own way, it’s taught me that having one good, dependable thing can make all the difference, no matter how much the world around you changes.

So while shiny new gadgets have  come and go, my old stainless steel Gerber stays right where it belongs — by my side, solving problems one twist, cut, or turn at a time. Some things don’t need to be replaced. They just need to keep doing what they do best.

Until next time.
