What does it mean to be a kid at heart?
“Being a Kid at Heart—Still Flying My Kite in New Ways”
Sometimes I think about what it means to be a kid at heart—not just in the playful sense, but in the way I still carry pieces of my childhood forward. To me, it’s about remembering the part of growing up that my ten-year-old self would actually smile at today.

At ten, I loved simple things like flying kites. The thrill of watching something I built lift off into the sky was everything—it felt like a small form of magic. I haven’t flown a kite in years, but that same feeling shows up in a different form now: through creativity. Whether I’m writing, working on ideas, or making something new, it’s like I’m still chasing the wind, just with different tools in my hands.
It’s funny—people often say “you grow out of things.” But I think the truth is, we don’t really grow out of everything; we just grow into new versions of what once lit us up. That same spark finds new shapes.
Maybe that’s what staying a kid at heart truly means—never letting go of the wonder that got us started.
What’s one thing your younger self loved that still lives in you, even if it looks a little different now?
Until next time.
