Do you trust your instincts?
Trusting the Truth Inside
Instinct, in the simplest meaning, is that quiet inner signal that speaks before my thoughts do. It’s the feeling in my gut that something is off , even when everything on the outside looks normal or on , when things are non natural. It doesn’t shout. It nudges. And most times, it’s the most honest part of you trying to guide your next step.

I remember a moment when my instinct spoke louder than words. I was in a situation that looked harmless enough—good environment, familiar faces, the kind of moment most people would just settle into. But my gut didn’t sit right. It was a tightness, almost like the air around me changed a little. Nothing dramatic happened, but something inside simply said, “This isn’t your scene right now.”
For a second, I tried to shake it off. I told myself I was overthinking. But instinct doesn’t come from overthinking—it comes from clarity your mind hasn’t caught up to yet. So I listened. I stepped away, changed scenes until I felt a lightness return. Looking back, I’m glad I didn’t wait for proof. That decision saved me from unnecessary stress and kept my peace intact.
But instinct doesn’t only move you away from something. Sometimes, it pushes you toward places you hesitate to step into. It can guide you into new environments or a different frame of mind that feels unfamiliar. Sometimes instinct shows up as a quiet courage—telling me to step forward even if my voice is louder. In those moments, instinct isn’t a warning; it’s an invitation into growth.
A unique way to understand this is to look at birds and their nests. No one teaches a bird where to place twigs, how to weave leaves, or which branch offers the safest angle. They just know. Something inside them says, “Build here. Build now.” Their instinct shapes a home long before they ever live in it.
Humans have a version of that too, but it’s less about building nests and more about building direction. Our instinct helps us shape the unseen parts of our life—where to place our energy, who to trust, when to move, and when to stay. It’s the internal blueprint we don’t fully see but somehow follow. Instead of twigs and feathers, our “nest” is made from decisions, boundaries, moments of courage, and steps that don’t always make sense until later.
That’s the quiet power of instinct: it protects, guides, pushes, and builds.
It creates the life we will eventually live—long before we realize we were building anything at all.
Until next time.
