Who Knows This?
When an unwanted emotion shows up, I use a simple strategy. I ask myself one question: “Who knows this?”
That question creates a small space between me and the emotion. Instead of being completely inside the feeling, I become aware that I am the one noticing it. The emotion is there, but I am also the one observing it.

That awareness changes things. The feeling becomes less overwhelming because I can see it clearly.
After that, I bring my attention back to now. I look at the present moment instead of getting lost in the emotion. When I do this, something interesting usually happens. There is often a simple step I can take—something small but real.
Maybe it is writing a sentence, taking a walk, or focusing on the next task in front of me.
The emotion may still be there, but it no longer controls the moment. A little awareness and one simple step forward is often enough to move through it.
Till next time.
