The Annoying Trope I Would Pick

A trope is a familiar idea, character type, theme, or storytelling pattern that appears repeatedly in books, movies, and television shows.

If I had to choose an annoying trope, I would pick the chosen one. It is the character who is destined to save everyone or fulfill some great purpose. While it can make for an interesting story, sometimes it feels predictable because we already know this person is special and important.

I prefer stories where characters have to earn their place rather than simply being chosen by destiny. Watching someone grow, struggle, and become successful through their own choices can be much more satisfying.

The chosen one is a classic trope, but sometimes I would rather see an ordinary person become extraordinary on their own.
