What’s a moment in your life that made you feel truly alive?
Choosing to Live in the Now
Years ago, there was a moment when I stopped running through my thoughts long enough to actually feel my life. I remember realizing that I had spent so much time looking backward at what had happened and forward to what might happen that I was missing the only thing that was truly mine—the moment I was living.

Something shifted in me that day. I chose to stop waiting for life to begin. I chose the now.
It wasn’t a dramatic decision or a single life-changing event. It was quieter than that. It was the feeling of taking a breath and realizing, I am here. This moment is my life.
From then on, I began paying closer attention—to the people around me, to ordinary moments, to my own thoughts and feelings. I learned that being alive isn’t always about chasing extraordinary experiences. Sometimes, it is about being fully present for an ordinary moment and allowing yourself to experience it completely.
Choosing to live in the now taught me something I still carry with me: life is not waiting for us somewhere in the future. It is happening right here.
Until next time.
