One thing I wish schools actually taught more seriously is personal finance.

We spend years learning math, science, history, and other subjects, but many of us leave school without really understanding how to manage money. I think students should learn practical things like budgeting, saving, investing, credit scores, taxes, loans, interest, and how to avoid unnecessary debt.

Knowing how to solve an equation is useful, but knowing how interest can make a small loan become a much larger payment can affect your everyday life. Understanding how to create a budget can help me make better decisions with every money.

I don’t think financial education should replace traditional subjects. I simply think it should be part of preparing people for adulthood. School should teach us not only how to pass tests, but also how to navigate the real world.

Money is something almost everyone has to deal with. Learning how to manage it should be considered a basic life skill.
